Zen Butterfly Metal Stencil by Pam Hornschu

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Create 6 inch square tent-fold card from green cardstock. Flatten out on base plate of embossing machine. Place branch die coming down from fold area face down. Place thin piece of tagboard  so that it partially blocks the cutting portion of the die near the top, but allows the larger leaves to cut through the card. Run through machine. Repeat, with branch coming from the bottom of the card, once again blocking the bottom edge from  being cut with a piece of tag board. Brush green ink over surface of card to emphasis leaf design.
  2. Ink-stencil flourish design on marbled paper with VersaMark and a sponge dauber, and emboss with Spring Sparkle blue.
  3. Place Zen Butterfly stencil on panel, and tape around all sides. Spread paste over design. Remove stencil to clean immediately.
  4. Sprinkle Spring Sparkle green over wet paste, and heat until bubbly and textured, and mostly dry. When cool, use VersaMarker to trace design on wings, and sprinkle with the blue sparkle powder. Heat once again until melted.
  5. Curl edges of panel, and tuck panel under die cut leaves on card front. Glue as necessary.
*Shaving Cream Paper is created by filling a small dish with cheap shaving foam, sprinkling with re-inkers, and swirling the colors with a craft stick. Place glossy cardstock over the surface to pick up the color, and use a palette knife or craft stick to wipe off remaining foam. Let dry. Great project to do with kids, and to create your own designer papers!
