Maidenhair Fern Frame by Louise Healy

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. ‚ÄčTape the Honeycomb stencil towards one end of a 6" x 8" canvas with removable tape.
  2. Use a palette knife and paste spreader to apply a coat of Regular Embossing Paste over the stencil, remove and clean the stencil, let paste dry.
  3. Line up the stencil over part of the dry paste and towards the other end of the canvas, and apply paste over the other end of the canvas, remove and clean stencil, let paste dry.
  4. Paint a coat of Gesso over the entire canvas, dry well.
  5. Use your finger (dip it in a little water first) to apply a streaky coat of DecoArt Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso across the embossed image and around the edges, let dry.
  6. Tape the Maidenhair Fern stencil over the Honeycomb pattern with removable tape and apply a coat of Regular Embossing Paste, remove and clean the stencil, let the paste dry.
  7. Place the clean, dry stencil over the dry paste and use a foam applicator to apply Palette Stamp and Stick Glue, remove and clean stencil while the glue gets tacky.
  8. Use a soft brush to apply a coat of MetallicFX Kiwi powder on the fern, use a Swiffer cloth to gently buff off any extra powders.
  9. Cut an 8" x 10" piece of Mixed Media White Paper and use a finger to swipe Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso over the paper
  10. Adhere the canvas to the background paper, let dry.
  11. Apply some Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso lightly around the frame, buff lightly with a soft cloth, place the canvas in the frame.
