Shasta Flower Trio by Louise Healy

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fold a 4 3/4" x 12" piece of green cardstock in half to form an A6 top-fold card.
  2. Edge a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of decorative paper with a coordinating marker, then adhere to the front of the card.
  3. Place the stencil face down (so you can't see the stencil number) on the large platform of a die cut machine, place a 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of white cardstock over the stencil (I like to mist my paper with a little water first), add a rubber embossing mat, two clean cutting plates, a put stack through the machine.
  4. Remove the embossed image and stencil from the machine, place face up on your work surface and tape the stencil in place over the embossed image with removable tape.
  5. Use 1/4" stencil brushes and the Picasso tool to add a LIGHT coat of color to the embossed image, then tape a piece of screen over the image and add more color through the screen, remove and clean stencil.
  6. Use a ruler and pencil to measure in 1/2" from the left edge, draw a line up to each side of the flower, cut away that 1/2" going around the edge of the flower (so the petals pop out now).
  7. Measure 1/4" down from the top edge, draw a line to each side of the small top flower, cut away the 1/4" going around the top of the flower.
  8. Adhere the flower to a 2 1/8" x 4 3/8" black mat, edge a 2 1/2" x 4 3/4" green mat with a black marker then adhere the flower layer to the green mat.
  9. Use foam tape to add the flower to the card front then add three white Candis.
