Miscellaneous: Chacopaper blue, medium-grit sandpaper, stylus, paper towels, paper palette, water basin, old toothbrush, 2 yds. ¼ inch cording, coordinating scrapbook paper

Tin Prep:
1. Lightly sand tin with medium grit sandpaper, wipe clean.
2. When applying the first coat of base color, mix all purpose sealer (3:1) or adhesion medium (1:1) with the paint. Then apply three coats of pure paint with no sealer or medium added.
3. Allow ample drying time between each coat of primer and paint.

Basecoat purse Light Buttermilk.   Transfer on pattern details as needed.

1. Transfer on feathers and base with Raw Sienna. Base top of head (purse lid) except eyes with Raw Sienna. This might take more than one coat.
2. Stencil front of belly with Harlequin stencil using Raw Sienna.  Go over stencil in a few areas with Worn Penny.
3. Doing a small area at a time using Decou-Page brush over Raw Sienna areas and sprinkle with Bronzed Mica Fragments.  On top/head do not do eyes and nose area.  Allow to dry and brush off loose flakes.
4. Float top of each feather with Burnt Umber and one side with Worn Penny.  Paint lines on each feather with Burnt Umber.  Pull about 5 strokes at the tip of each feather using 2/0 liner and Honey Brown, overstroke with Emperor’s Gold. On buttermilk area of body float around edges of feathers with Raw Sienna, strengthen shading above top front feathers with Burnt Umber.
5. Paint around eyes and pupils with Soft Black and paint irises with True Ochre.  Float across top of iris and pupil with Raw Sienna.  Paint a line with Cadmium Yellow on each iris starting at center left and going past center bottom.  Strengthen a smaller portion of just painted line with brush mix of Cadmium Yellow + Warm White.  Paint Warm White highlight comma on top right of pupil and a dot on lower left of pupil.  Dry brush Warm White line on lower rim of each eye.
6. On head float with Burnt Umber around outside edges, bottom of heart, inside and outside of nose, and above eye brow.   Strengthen top outside area around nose and paint nostrils with Soft Black.  Using liner brush and Burnt Umber pull lines from outside edge in around cheeks and pull lines out around nose.  Paint lines going up and out above eye brow with Burnt Umber. Using liner brush and Light Buttermilk stroke on hairs around eyes and nose.  Strengthen with Warm White around eyes. Using small round pull a few Light Buttermilk spots above eyebrow.
7. Flyspeck belly with Raw Sienna.

1. Dry brush acorn caps with Emperor’s Gold, and oak frond with Emperor’s Gold and Worn Penny.

1. To make charm, place seed bead, bead, and bead cap on headpin.  Hold headpin with flat-nose pliers right above bead cap.  Bend headpin back to a ninety-degree angle (a).  Use round nose pliers to hold the wire near the angle and bend the wire up and forward (b).  Bend the wire down (c).  Wrap wire tightly down the stem of the wire to create two or three coils.  Trim the excess wire. 2. Cut 8” of bronze wire.  Place flat-nose pliers 2” from end of wire and bend back to a ninety-degree angle.  Use round nose pliers to hold the wire near the angle and bend the wire up and forward.  Slip end through loop in charm and bend the wire down. Wrap wire tightly down the stem of the wire to create two or three coils.  Trim the excess wire.  Decide on desired length of charm then create loop on other end of wire and slip over jump ring.  Repeat for 2nd charm and leaf.

1. Remove any transfer lines and varnish with Glossy spray varnish.  While varnish is still wet on belly sprinkle with glitter.  Apply glossy accents to eyes, keeping level until dry.  If it starts to run wipe runs with q-tips.
2. Line with scrapbook paper working one section at a time.  Glue in place with Decou-Page.
3. Paint cord with Copper Penny, drybrush randomly with Emperor’s Gold.  When dry slip charm on cord and then ends in purse and knot.

  1. Fold a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch cardstock in half for a card base with a folded size of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.
  2. Stamp Bird Gears with black ink on colored cardstock and color with colored pencils.
  3. Sprinkle Spoonful of Rust around image and heat set from the back of the cardstock.
  4. Glue onto different color cardstock mat and then onto card base.

  1. Top fold 5 ½” X 11” teal cardstock to create 5 ½” square card.
  2. Apply dabs of acrylic paints to Creative Palette. Spray with water to create movement.
  3. Place screen on surface, and set face up on scrap paper. Place a panel of white cardstock over the top to transfer the paint and the pattern. Repeat with Bird Gears stamp and second cardstock panel. Set panels aside to dry. Clean palette.
  4. Round top corners of bird panel. Apply glue marker around edge and sprinkle with fragments. Layer and adhere both panels on card, with scrap of web in between.
  5. Coat two gears and metal word frame with Versamark and heat emboss with Shabby White (careful! Hot!). Adhere gears to card as desired. Sprinkle more Shabby White on card and heat from underneath to melt.
  6. Stamp sentiment on scrap of teal cardstock with blue ink. Adhere inside frame with Gem Tac. Insert ribbon through frame, wrap and tie over front of card.
